Mode of action and application
The hydrolate is created during the distillation of lavender plants. For the hydrolate from the real lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), both the flowers of the lavender (Lavandulae flos) and the essential lavender oil (Lavandulae aetheroleum) are used.
Internally, the oil helps with restlessness, nervousness, general exhaustion and sleep disorders. In addition, the hydrolate can help with severe, painful flatulence and gastrointestinal complaints and, because of its bile juice-stimulating effect, also improve the digestion of heavy meals. It has a gentle effect and is therefore well suited for sensitive people and children.

Overall, Lavender Hydrolat is strenghtening, regenerating, improves blood circulation, balances and promotes sleep and sleep through. Lavender hydrolate is used in skin care because of its strong antibacterial effect, especially for oily skin and for skin regeneration. Also as hair tonic e.g. for oily hair, the lavender hydrolate can be helpful.
In summer, hydrolates are often used as a refreshment. You can put the lavender water in a spray bottle and spray your face and body.
The effect of lavender
Many of the over 2,000 plant-based ingredients contained in lavender have already been discovered and very well researched. The best known beneficial ingredients are linalool, linalyl acetate, camphor and cineol. Linalool is an important ingredient in lavender and is responsible for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. Linalyl acetate is jointly responsible for the characteristic fragrance of the plant and has a calming and relaxing effect on the nervous and hormonal systems.
Linalyl acetate plays an important role in the positive effect on the psyche by, among other things, the central nervous system calms, protects the nerves from overstimulation and soothes excessive emotions.
Hydrolate for external use: To promote regeneration of the skin, against inflammation and pain, the Lavender Hydrolat can be applied directly to the skin. It does not have to be diluted. Externally, the hydrolate can be used for skin complaints such as acne, but also for rheumatic complaints and nerve pain.
