The Book of Blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ
Allah states in the Quran: "Verily, Allah and His angels bless the Prophet. O you who believe, bless him and greet him with respect." [33:56] For every Muslim, praying the blessing of the Prophet is a daily obligation, independent of the obligatory prayers. Ibn Qayyim al-Gawziyya dedicated a separate treatise to this important matter, which beautifully explores the special significance of the blessing (salawat) upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with reference to Quranic verses and hadith. Whoever performs it partakes in a wonderful way of his secrets, his noble dignity, and his inner wisdom. The author considered it important to enumerate the occasions for this prayer and its excellent locations, as well as the many benefits, advantages, and fruits that lie within it.
