“Sunan ʼAbī Dawud,” along with Saḥīḥ al-Bukhari and Saḥīḥ Muslim, is one of the six most famous collections of traditions (hadith) attributed to the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), and which have shaped the daily lives of Muslims for well over a thousand years. These six hadith collections are:

Sahih al-Bukhari
Sahih Muslim
Sunan an-Nasā'iyy
Jāmi' at-Tirmidhiyy
Sunan 'Abī Dawud
Sunan Ibn Mahāh
For the first time in the history of Islamic literature, a complete hadith collection is now available in German with "Sunan 'Abī Dawud." It contains reports on the life of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, his actions and sayings, his explanations of the Qur'an, the manner in which he performed his worship, and much more. All previous hadith collections were either not original or incomplete.

Each tradition was supplemented by statements from renowned hadith scholars to help the reader distinguish between authentic and inauthentic hadiths.
